If you provide cost data to A2X, you can calculate your cost of goods sold, and your FBA inventory valuation for every settlement and month-end. This can give you much more accurate gross margins and inventory valuation data, as well as a clearer picture of your business's health.
To input and edit your costs in A2X click the Costs in the header menu:
The Manage Costs screen has 4 tabs:
Manage Costs
Cost History
Cost file (Google Sheets Sync)
Advanced Costs
Manage Costs tab
The Manage costs tab may already display a number of SKUs fetched in by A2X from your data, and if you are missing some, you can initiate a refresh by clicking 'Refresh SKUs'. This will search recent settlements, and recent inventory (if you have FBA inventory) to find them and bring them into this table.
If you are missing any SKUs or SKU information you can load or refresh an FBA inventory report for the month (Inventory > Monthly Summary).
Once you have all of your SKUs, you can input or edit the costs and save the cost data (be sure to select a correct currency).
Below we explain where is the data you see in each column on Manage Costs tab coming from:
'name' and 'fnSKU' will update once those items have appeared on a month end inventory valuation report. It is not possible to manually add or edit them, they will be automatically populated. They come straight from Amazon, and are like mapping, so cannot be changed, as changing them would break the reference connection to Amazon.
'in stock' values come from month end inventory valuation reports - which we fetch from Amazon - and they are calculated as of last month (they are normally issued by the 7-10th of the following month).
'sold' values are updated from the data in your settlements. When the new settlement is fetched into A2X and the SKU was sold in that period, it should update this number. Units 'sold' values shown relate to the current month only.
'last seen' date shows when A2X last saw that SKU listed in either a month end inventory valuation report or a settlement.
Cost History tab
On the Cost History tab, you can review, download and edit older cost uploads.
Advanced Costs Tab
On the Advanced Costs tab, you can manage your costs via CSV file download and upload. This is the required method for accounts with more than 10,000 products/SKUs in their Amazon catalog.
