This guide explains how to post your PayPal statements to your accounting software using A2X. Whether you're using QuickBooks Online, Xero, or Sage, you'll find simple steps to ensure your financial data is accurately recorded and reconciled.
Preparation
Before you start, ensure that your PayPal and accounting software are connected to A2X, and that you have mapped your accounts and taxes appropriately.
Accessing statements
PayPal statements are displayed in your A2X account. To find them, navigate to the 'Home' or 'Statements' tab.
Step 1: Posting the Statement
To post your first payout, simply click 'Post' on the Statements tab.
Alternatively, if you prefer to review the statement details before posting, select the hyperlinked date or the breadcrumbs next to each statement, then 'Review'. This allows you to check the statement details, accounts, and tax codes before sending them to your accounting system.
Click on the down arrow to show statement details
Review your accounts and tax rates (which are set in the accounts tab) and then send them to your accounting ledger:
Step 2: Finding and reconciling the entry in different accounting systems:
QuickBooks Online
One of the easiest ways to find the journal straight after posting it is to click the magnifying glass at the top right of the page in QuickBooks Online, and display a drop-down showing your recent transactions:
Please note this journal entry will post the net movement for each day to the bank account you nominate in the accounts tab of A2X, as shown here:
Xero
Please note this invoice will post the net movement for each day to the bank account movement account you nominate in the accounts tab of A2X, as shown here:
