Ensuring a seamless transition of billing responsibilities on your A2X account involves a few simple steps. Whether handing over billing to a client or taking charge, follow these steps for a hassle-free process. The transfer options below are specifically tailored to accountants and bookkeepers who pay for A2X on behalf of their clients.
This article will guide you through two billing transfer options:

Transferring Billing to your Client
Step 1: Cancel Subscription
Initiate the process by first cancelling the account's subscription. Click your user icon in the top right corner then click Subscriptions:
Next, click 'Edit Plan':
You will be redirected to the plan selection page. Click 'Cancel subscription':
Please Note: If you don't see the options shown above, your subscription may still be in our old billing system. Try going to Settings > Billing instead and click 'Cancel Subscription' there.
If this option isn't available either or you experience any issues, please reach out via partners@a2xaccounting.com or the chat icon in A2X.
Step 2: Invite Client as User

Invite your client as a user to the account (if not already). Go to Settings > Users and send an invitation.
Step 3: Client Re-Subscribes

Upon receiving the invitation, the client logs in and re-subscribes using their payment details. Please feel free to share our support article HERE with your client for subscription instructions, including how to link accounts to multi plans.
Step 4: Adjust Admin Rights and User Access

As the process concludes, you can action the following as needed:
Reassign the account admin rights. Go to Settings > Users in the account and click the switch admin button next to the desired user.
Remove team access. If you're an A2X Partner and have a team linked to the account, you can go to your Teams page in A2X (left sidebar), and click Unlink next to the account. This will remove account access for your staff and yourself.
Remove individual access. If you or any of your staff members have individual access in the account (meaning, a team is not linked to the account), any remaining A2X user can go to Settings > Users in the account and click the red Leave Account button to be removed from the account.
Important note: It is not required to switch the account admin to your client in order to transfer billing to your client, as these are separate functions in A2X. If you have any questions or experience any issues, please contact us via partners@a2xaccounting.com or the chat icon in A2X.
Transferring Billing from a Client to the accountant/bookkeeper:
Step 1: Client Cancels Subscription
If you're transitioning billing from your client to you, kick off the process by asking the client to cancel their subscription. This step turns the account back to trial mode. (If your client needs help on how to cancel they can follow the article steps HERE)
Step 2: Invite Firm Billing Owner
After the client has cancelled, if they haven't yet done so, they'll need to send an account invite to whoever will be the firm billing owner. The client can do this in their Settings > Users.
Step 3: Firm Billing Owner Jumps In
Once you have accepted the invitation, the firm billing owner will simply just need to log in and re-subscribe the account. This ensures the account stays active and smoothly transitions billing responsibilities.
