Exciting news! A2X now supports Shop Pay Installments just like Shopify Payments. This makes it easier to track your payouts and fees accurately.

What’s New?

  • Fees for Shop Pay Installment orders are now included automatically.

  • You can now easily match your Shop Pay Installment payouts to your bank deposits.

  • A2X also supports Shopify's new early access feature that consolidates Shop Pay Installments into your regular Shopify Payments payouts. Learn more about it here.

How This Change Works:

We’ve made the transition smooth by using a date-based update:

  • Cutoff Date: order created from June 1st 2025

If You’re Already Using A2X:

Orders created before June 1st 2025:

  • Will still show as shopify_installments (Other payment gateway payout).

  • Orders created on or after June 1st 2025:

    • Will now show as Shop Pay Installments (payout).

If You Created Your A2X Account After June 1st 2025:

  • All installment orders (even older ones) will use the new payout method automatically.

Why This Matters:

  • More accurate reports: Avoids double-ups or missing data.

  • Cleaner financial summaries: Installments are now grouped with Shopify Payments for easier tracking.

How Does Reconciliation work with the new Shop Pay Installments?

With the new Shop Pay Installment payouts, these no longer require the use of the clearing account method, as the payout now contains the Shopify Fee. This means you can post these payouts over to the accounting system and match them directly to the Bank deposit.

We’re excited for this update and hope it makes your accounting even smoother!

Transition Period Considerations

To ensure a smooth reconciliation through the transition period, there are one-time action items that need to be taken for QBO and Xero users.

QBO

Inconsistent Shop Pay Installment payout entries need to be refreshed for full accuracy.

If you haven’t yet adjusted these entries manually, we recommend:

  1. Delete the affected installment journals in QBO

  2. Refresh the entries in A2X

  3. Repost the corrected entries from A2X to QBO

This process ensures your payout records are up to date and match your deposits.

Xero

Some adjustment payouts need to be posted to Xero.

These adjustments:

  • Ensure your payouts align with your bank deposits

  • Maintain accuracy in your financial reporting

In cases where payout entries appear inconsistent, you’ll reconcile your deposit in Xero by matching it to two entries:

  1. The original payout entry posted by A2X

  2. The new adjustment entry also posted by A2X
