We've identified an issue affecting specific Shopify orders paid via PayPal Wallet that impacts Shopify Financial Summary (FS) totals. Here’s what's happening and how it impacts your accounting data:

Issue Summary:

  • Orders paid via Shopify Payments (using PayPal Wallet) show as "Money will be added in your payout" within Shopify.

  • Despite this, the funds are never included in the expected Shopify payout.

  • Shopify incorrectly includes these PayPal wallet amounts in the Finance summary totals, even though they haven't been added to Shopify payment payouts.

How Does This Impact Your A2X Reports?

  • A2X reporting is accurate: A2X matches and records amounts based on actual Shopify payment payouts received. Since these PayPal wallet transactions never appear in your Shopify payment payouts, A2X does not (and cannot) include them.

  • Shopify Finance summary totals may appear higher: Shopify Finance summary is showing totals that incorrectly include these PayPal wallet transactions.

Recommended Action:

  • No manual adjustments are needed in A2X: Your underlying accounting data from A2X is correct.

  • Be aware of differences: If reconciling against Shopify Finance summary totals, you may notice discrepancies caused by Shopify's inclusion of PayPal wallet amounts.

Next Steps:

  • Reach out to Shopify about this issue so that they can ensure your PayPal Wallet amounts end up being correctly added to a payout.

  • Continue relying on your A2X reports for accurate, payout-based accounting data.
