Getting Started

Congratulations on setting up A2X for Shopify B2B!

Once the feature is enabled, you can start syncing individual Shopify orders to your connected accounting ledger by applying a special tag.

Step 1: Tag the Order

To sync a Shopify order to your accounting software as an individual B2B invoice, apply the A2XB2B tag to the order in Shopify.

This tag can be applied:

  • Manually by the Shopify operator

  • Automatically using an app like Shopify Flow

Need help setting up Flow? Click here to read how to use it to automate tagging.

Note: The tag can be applied at any time—when the order is created, or even after it has been fully paid.

Step 2: A2X Creates the B2B Order (After 3 Hours)

Approximately three hours after the tag is applied, A2X will generate a B2B order Invoice.

  • Any changes made in Shopify within that three-hour window will be included in the synced invoice.

After the three-hour window, the sync is considered final.

Step 3: Invoice Posts to Your Accounting Software

Once the B2B order is created, A2X will automatically post the invoice to your connected accounting ledger.

If you don’t see the invoice after three hours, click here for a troubleshooting guide.

Important Notes

  • After the initial sync, no further changes in Shopify will be synced.

  • Re-tagging or re-sending the order from Shopify will not trigger another sync.

  • Any changes made to the invoice in your accounting software won’t be reflected in Shopify.

Step 4: ‘Mark as Paid’ Setting (Optional)

If you’ve enabled the A2X for Shopify B2B ‘Mark as Paid’ setting:

  • The Shopify order will be updated to Paid once the synced invoice in the Accounting System is fully paid.

  • Partial payments won’t sync back to Shopify.

  • The Shopify order will be marked as based on the unpaid amount at the time of accounting system payment—even if the total order value has since changed in Shopify or the accounting system.
