How to identify and correct the ‘NonOrder' transactions from Shopify appearing in your A2X entries in January 2025

Overview

In January 2025, some Shopify sellers noticed ‘Non-Order’ transactions in their Shopify payouts. This occurred because some PayPal wallet payments were missing order IDs.

Without this data, Shopify labeled the transactions as ‘Non-Order’ in the payment details. As a result, these transactions appeared in A2X as 'NonOrderTransaction' lines.

Shopify has now released a fix for this issue, which has also been applied retrospectively to past-impacted orders.

Because many of these transactions have already been posted to accounting software, rather than recreating the payouts, A2X has created adjustment payouts that can be posted to correct the affected entries.

If your account was affected, you will see an adjustment payout in your A2X for Shopify Payouts page. We recommend posting this adjustment to your accounting system, as it will replace those non-order-related transactions.

How to identify if you were impacted

To check if your account was affected, navigate to your A2X ‘Payouts’ page and review Shopify payments between January 20 - January 31, 2025. Look for any NonOrderTransaction lines within your payout details.

Below is an example of how these transactions appeared in A2X:

What corrections has A2X released?

Within impacted accounts, A2X has:

  • Applied adjustments to remove the incorrect NonOrderTransaction lines.

  • Created an adjustment payout that can be posted to correct the discrepancy.

What you need to do

If you were impacted by this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Locate the adjustment payout in A2X under your Payouts page.

  2. Post this entry to your accounting system to ensure the adjustment is reflected accurately.

  3. Verify that your reconciliations match the corrected amounts in A2X.
