A2X offers the ability to insert a customized text string within the reference code for easy identification.

This text string can be up to five characters in length.

The custom text string may be helpful in the following situations:

​1. You have connected more than one A2X for PayPal account to your accounting ledger.
​
The custom text string reference will allow you to identify which account is responsible for which posting, which will allow a more efficient ability to trace postings back to the correct PayPal account.

2. You have a customized process that is linked to the posting of A2X PayPal statements.

Your process will be able to search the reference field for the customized text string to trigger the next step of the process.
