What to Expect When Enabling A2X for Shopify B2B

When A2X for Shopify B2B is enabled, it allows tagged Shopify orders to be sent individually to your connected accounting system as open invoices. The trigger for this is the A2XB2B tag applied to orders in Shopify.

Key Details to Be Aware Of

  • In general, when you start using A2X for Shopify B2B, no existing Shopify orders will have the A2XB2B tag.

  • Once B2B is enabled, any order tagged with A2XB2B will be synced to your ledger as an individual invoice.

  • The A2XB2B tag is usually applied prospectively—to new orders going forward.

However, it can also be applied to historical orders, either manually or through automated workflows like Shopify Flow.

Important Note About Historical Tags

If your Shopify store already has orders tagged with A2XB2B—for example:

  • You've previously used Shopify Flow to apply the tag

  • Your Shopify store was reconnected to a new A2X account

  • Or the tag was manually applied in the past

A2X will NOT attempt to sync those historical orders as B2B invoices upon enabling the feature. If the order has not previously been synced to the A2X account, it may be synced in the future if it is either re-tagged with A2XB2B or if the order is otherwise edited.

For most cases, we recommend only applying the A2XB2B tag to orders after the feature is enabled in A2X.

Before You Enable B2B

Before switching B2B on, we strongly recommend:

✅ Reviewing your Shopify orders for any existing A2XB2B tags.

✅ Confirming your tagging workflows in Shopify.
